Located at the northwest edge of the Arena District, an established, mixed-use development located in the northwest quadrant of downtown Columbus, Columbia Gas of Ohio Headquarters is a prominent structure to all who visit the district. Stretching along the north side of Nationwide Boulevard, the structure visually connects to both prominent sports venues in the district, Nationwide Arena and Huntington Park. A covered pedestrian walk was created along the north side of the building to provide access from the Columbia Gas Lobby from a newly constructed parking garage.
The building’s design is broken into two distinct structures that complement the established brick structures, and scale of the Arena District, while giving Columbia Gas of Ohio a presence of their own. The core and shell design compliments the other buildings that are part of the development with brick, glass and decorative metal.
The building was designed sustainably and achieved LEED Silver Certification with the USGBC.
