EXPRESS design studios is located in the heart of the fashion industry of NYC. The design studio is housed in a landmark building on Fifth Avenue, occupying three floors of a historic loft-style building.
Lupton Rausch Architects and New York based Resolution 4 Architecture collaborated to completely renovate the existing studios in a phased construction, while maintaining full operation of the company.
The design cleared the floor layouts to maximize the white-loft space, allowing expansive views to the city beyond, creating a sophisticated clean space for the fashion design operations. Extensive custom millwork was employed for workstations, meeting/collaboration zones, and an event-oriented lobby space. A new connecting stair, monumental in scale and highly-detailed, became the central organizer for linking the three floor operation.
