Library Park is a redevelopment within the Discovery District, an urban mixed-use district alongside the Main Branch of Columbus Public Library. The third phase of the district rework includes a mixed-use structure with market-rate apartments (Studios, 1BR, 2BR, Flats and Garden Units), structured parking, a 5,000 SF Fitness Center, Co-Working Amenity Lobby and a landscaped courtyard with elevated pool adjacent to Clubroom amenities.
The project promotes the pedestrian friendly Discovery District, influencing the design of commercial spaces and functions along the busy South Grant Street corridor, then transitioning to a walkable neighborhood focused corridor along Oak Street at the heart of the Library Park Development. Ground-level garden apartments with exterior private gardens and elevated flats overlooking Oak St. continue a legacy of high quality urban residential zones found in many American cities. The set-back building massing and material choices above the gardens and flats is influenced by contextual massing of adjacent buildings. Steel structured fire-escape inspired balconies complete the overall context of the street corridor.
